Beinmar Restaurants
New to the forum and just wondered if anyone could recommend any good restaurants for people with young children, aged 6 and 8. We would prefer the Benimar area as we are staying on Rojales Hills and would like to walk there (and back!). Thanks
I thought Route 66 had closed down, my friends have been past it a few times hoping to have breakfast but its always shut.
That's a shame they did some great breakfast's, sign of the times. Thanks for letting me know.
Went Route 66 last night - once again another great meal and very resonable priced. I had the Scampi Wrap and my wife had a sizzler, couple of drinks and bill was around €20. We had booked luckily as they were very busy. Great atmosphere and great food!
the best value breakfast in Benimar is at T.J.'s!! 7 items plus tea or coffee for only 3 euros!!
We went to this cafe 2 weeks ago for the first time as we had heard it was good, the food was fine about the same as you get in most places but I found the staff rude and not interested in their work. They made no effort at all. Needless to say we will not be spending our money there again.
We have been to El Mundo once and I have to say it was THE worse meal we have ever had. The place was dirty, much of the food that should have been in chillers was not, the food was tasteless and it took ages to get any drinks. Would definitely not return or recommend it.
We went to Route 66 last night and it was lovely. The food was excellent and there was so much of it!! The staff were very friendly and the bill was less than €20 for two of us with a couple of drinks each. Would definitely go there again.

Which place are you commenting on? The post before yours started talking about TJ's. The previous posts were about Route 66.
I'll be shocked if the comment was aimed at Route 66, and I would hazard a guess it was aimed at TJs. Maz
I've not heard a bad word said against TJs but I don't know anything about Route 66 so I wondered, Maz.
We have been to Route 66 and find the staff there very friendly. Have been to TJs though only for breakfast and whilst the staff are fairly polite - they arent particularly friendly and do seem to literally just do what they need to ie take your order and bring you your food! We had to call them over for more drinks as they were stood at the counter chatting. They then went outside for a coffee and a cig and we had to wait till they came back in to get the bill. I put it down to the fact that it was early and they were perhaps not morning people!
I was on about TJ's I think in these hard times just offering cheap meals is not enough. It may get the customer to come once but if they are treated with sloppy service they will not go back.
I think TJ's owners should have a read of these comments it may save them a lot of money. Listen to your customers.
We needed somewhere for breakfast on Thursday and decided to give TJs another go....wish we hadnt! Whilst the sandwiches were actually very nice once again the staff proved they were not. I have to agree with Patti...they took our order, then stood at the bar chatting with a lady who had come in and ordered a cup of tea - when she walked upstairs, they then proceeded to talk about her in not very complimentary terms and in full earshot of us! They then went with the guy from the kitchen (who I think is the owner?) and sat outside for a cig and a cup of tea! So much for customer service ..we wont give them another chance....
I have had the misfortune of visiting TJs today. The staff there are very rude compared to all the other restuarants in Benimar.
I have been there three times (because my wife likes to give people a chance) and walked out twice.
I will NEVER go back there.
Why would I when I could go to Studz or Breeze?
TJs is by far the least welcoming restuarant in the area
We usually go to Route 66 or the Wok at Benimar. Both are excellent value. Route 66 do a kids menu. Their main meals are really good and very large portions (dont need a starter!!). The wok is great too - good choice, clean and always fresh food being put out. And for adults its only €6.95
